General Description/Position Summary

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is adding a Philanthropy Operations Coordinator to our dynamic and growing Philanthropy team! The ideal candidate will have solid customer relationship management (CRM) systems experience/expertise and a passion for supporting a mission-based non-profit community impact organization. The Philanthropy Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an accurate donor database, serving as a CRM subject matter expert and providing CRM training to peers, assisting with gift processing, gift acknowledgment and data integrity within numerous systems, e.g., Raiser's Edge, Luminate, etc., in support of the Foodbank's Philanthropy, Marketing and Communications, Advocacy and Operational activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership on CRM/database management for the organization
  • Deliver CRM/database management training for relevant team members
  • Keep abreast of updates in functionality of the CRM/database management systems utilized by the Foodbank and inform/train relevant staff on these system updates
  • Data Processor
    • Process incoming donations through various mediums, e.g., online giving, mail, etc.
    • Compose and generate timely acknowledgements (within 2-4 business days)
    • Maintain an accurate donor database (e.g., change of address, remove from mailing list, status updates, duplicate addresses)
    • Properly code donor accounts for mailing frequency and preferred method of contact
  • Receive and respond to donor inquiries, via phone, email or letter
  • Assist Philanthropy staff with needed data queries and reports
  • Develop and maintain robust department process documents and SharePoint organizational system.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all constituent records, transactions, data, research and communications, respecting the anonymity of each constituent's identity, as directed by the constituent and department policy.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
    • As requested by Chief Development Officer and the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving, assist with activities such as but not limited to: engagement opportunities, and stewardship materials.

Qualifications

  • Must possess expert-level CRM/database management skills
  • At least 3 years of CRM/database management experience (Blackbaud suite of tools, Salesforce, etc.) required
  • Previous data entry experience required
  • Ability to train peers on CRM/database management systems
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university
  • Passion for the Foodbank mission and the ability to demonstrate SLAFB's Core Values
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications and other web-based applications required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, ability to handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
  • Positive attitude and passion for helping others
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
