Job Title: Quality Control Coordinator

Immediate Supervisor: Inventory Control Manager

Employees Supervised: None

FLSA: Non - Exempt


General Description/Position Summary:

Perform daily audits for outbound orders and systematically post picks related to audited orders. Oversee the audit process including the daily collection of all completed audit forms from other auditors. Maintain data collected from daily audits and ensure all errors (wrong item, wrong quantity, poor construction of order and related product damage, etc.) are recorded and reported properly.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete audits of outbound orders, report all errors found in a timely manner, strive to complete all or at least as many as possible daily.
    • Work to gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Ceres inventory software system to effectively support Operations through the posting of all completed picks/orders.
  • Review the Ceres system throughout the day to ensure that all the picks that have been generated for the current ship date on the floor have been audited and posted in Ceres in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that the order selector's name and the staging location of the completed picks has been recorded correctly in the Ceres system.
  • Collect all completed daily audit forms at the end of each day and ensure all errors (wrong item, wrong quantity, poor construction of order and related product damage, etc.) have been recorded properly.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with all Operations departments, especially the Order Fulfillment team, as well as relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Through the audit process strive to assist and participate in the continuous improvement process by identifying and implementing best practices.
    • Communicate collected data with the Warehouse Leadership team (Warehouse Manager, Inventory Control Manager, Director of Operations).
  • Maintain reports recording data collected from the audit forms.
    • Send out daily and monthly reports containing all data collected during the audit process to the Operations Leadership Team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

OTHER ASPECTS OF THE JOB:

  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers, managers, and customers, both internal and external.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and core values of the St. Louis Area Foodbank
  • This position functions in both an office and warehouse environment and may require minimal travel (less than 10%).
  • The position will spend an extensive amount of time in the warehouse and freezer / cooler. (Cold temp gear will be provided for working in the freezer.)
  • The Quality Control Coordinator will spend approximately 40% to 50% of time at a computer workstation, and the rest of the time in the warehouse.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Associate degree in a related field a plus.
  • Food Defense Certification a plus (A.I.B. or S.Q.F. certification a plus).
  • Skilled in the operation of standard warehouse equipment including forklift and pallet riders required (including Reach truck experience).
  • Ability to operate a computer, such as sending and receiving electronic mail, and preparing basic memos and reports.
  • Computer proficient with solid MS Office Suite skills, Intermediate Excel skills strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work. Great organizational skills a must.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.

Working Conditions:

Work performed in warehouse involves a significant amount of walking on concrete surfaces. Entrances may be open and work conditions during the summer months can be very hot, and during the winter very cold. Employee may be going in and out of freezers and coolers with extreme variations in temperature. Workspace could be very dusty, and on occasions can be noisy due to the traffic of motorized vehicles operated in the building. Periodically there may be work outside and be exposed to the elements. Employee may be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects due to working with damaged product. Work involves moving boxes and employee must lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 75 pounds. Work involves using Power Industrial Trucks (P.I.T.S) and therefore requires training and certification to operate these P.I.T.S.

May work evenings and weekends due to special events and other projects related to timely and accurate warehousing and distribution of product.
