Product Sourcing Coordinator


General Description/Position Summary

A product sourcing position responsible for enhancing the retail program, assisting in the success of the food drive program and contributing to the growth of other product partnerships that raise awareness and feed those in need throughout the community.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the growth and success of the retail donation program by means of solicitation, communication and engagement with all retail partners and agencies participating in retail.
  • Develop and own business relationships with local Retail donors to increase donation volume.
  • Travel 50%/week to targeted retail partner locations to ensure following of procedures.
  • Facilitate and manage donation orders using the Food Bank's ordering system.
  • Work with the Director of Product Acquisition to grow overall product donations.
  • Work with Agency Relations, Philanthropy & Marketing and Operations to strengthen product & agency partnerships. Communicate with Transportation and Logistics on retail route concerns.
  • Track and negotiate cost-savings within product sourcing department as it relates to product acquisition.
  • Import and track grocery rescue logistics (driver retail sheets and MealConnect).
  • Address Quality issues that arise during the donation process with donors and vendors.
  • Attend position relevant meetings and events throughout the communities served by SLAFB to help strengthen community relationships.
  • Complete accurate monthly reports and retail data analysis for
  • Assist Product Donation Coordinator with the growth and success of the food drive program.
  • Assist Director of Product Acquisition with product sourcing projects for the Volunteer Center.
  • Maintain and organize office files for the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree and experience
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Mustbe able to pass drug screening and criminal background check

Special events and other projects may require evening and/or weekend work. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
