Job Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The St. Louis Area Foodbank seeks an organized and energetic Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join our team. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting cross-functional projects that broaden the awareness of the work of the St. Louis Area Foodbank and the needs of our community. This creative individual will be a key contributor for social media, story writing, website editing, as well as internal and external communications.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Create and write content based on client stories that will be used in the Foodbank's newsletter, annual report, blogs, social media, and elsewhere.
  • Support internal communication needs focused on employee engagement and educations, values-based initiatives, and other focus areas as necessary.
  • Supervise the storage, updating, and replenishment of marketing materials such as brochures, fact sheets, etc.

Social Media and Digital Marketing

  • Follow brand guidelines to create and schedule content across all digital platforms.
  • Compile analytics and make modifications to optimize our digital content based on data driven insights.
  • Moderate and engage the Foodbank's social followers through all channels including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Assist in website management and provide support to other departments as needed.

Project Management

  • Research costs and methods of production for print and promotional materials.
  • Procure business cards, name plates, name badges, apparel, and other materials as needed.
  • Assist internal stakeholders in ensuring that materials bearing the SLAFB name are on brand and clearly convey the vision and mission of the organization.
  • Manage asset library and SharePoint files for ease of access by stakeholders.

Media Relations

  • Support creation and distribution of press releases and media alerts.
  • Serve as photographer/videographer as requested.

Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, or similar relevant area.
  • 2-3 years of relevant marketing/communications experience preferred.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with data collection and reporting including, but not limited to social media analytics, search engine optimization (SEO), and search engine marketing (SEM).
  • Proficiency in SharePoint would be a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing a multitude of projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background checks.
