IT Associate

General Description/Position Summary

Maintain information technology systems and networks by way of performing both technical and administrative tasks to ensure functionality and efficiency of computer and telecom systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical resource to help resolve end-user issues.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; make repairs and corrections where required.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and conduct technology-based training courses, as well as providing training on MS Office products and other data base applications as needed.
  • Responsible for managing user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations by way of active directory administration.
  • Responsible for ensuring security through access controls and security systems.
  • Responsible for developing procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
  • Responsible for installing and configuring new hardware and software and replacing defective or outdated components when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining software licenses and compliance with various licensing vendors.
  • Responsible for analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
  • Responsible for providing after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance.
  • Responsible for documenting processes which employees need to follow in order to successfully work within our computing system.
  • Responsible for providing audio conference and web conference set up, including set up of necessary devices for each event.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Requires minimum of 2 years of experience in a technology support role
  • Bachelor's degree in computer technology, business or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Prior experience in network management and help desk support required
  • Prior experience managing Active Directory required  
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications
  • Familiarity with Audio Visual and Telephone Systems is a plus
  • Certification (CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Proven project management skills preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to keep confidential information required
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check                
  • Special events and other projects related to timely and accurate warehousing and distribution of product may require evening and / or weekend work. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
