Job Title: Donor Coordinator

General Description/Position Summary

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is adding Donor Coordinator to our dynamic and growing Philanthropy team! The Donor Coordinator has the primary responsibility of raising funds that best support the St. Louis Area Foodbank's mission through building and growing a meaningful sustaining and mid-level donor program.


Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to and working in partnership with the Director of Philanthropy, the Donor Coordinator will develop and implement strategies and tactics to:

  • Implement thoughtful and effective sustainer retention tactics and campaigns
  • They will be responsible for managing sustainer donor journeys across mass marketing channels, reviewing performance data to make informed decisions, and converting, retaining, and recapturing monthly donors -- as well as contributing to overall donor retention plans, including those for one-time donors
  • Achieve revenue targets by meeting key performance indicators on donor retention, overall sustainer giving, and growth
  • Manage deadlines and deliverables to engage and retain new sustainers, recapture lapsed sustainers, and upgrade existing sustainers; lead similar approaches to retain one-time donors as well
  • Work with partners across direct mail, digital and marketing to translate supporter journeys into multi-channel campaigns geared toward sustaining donor retention, including via direct mail, digital/paid acquisition, face-to-face, telemarketing, SMS, and email
  • Support short-term and long-term testing strategies to optimize the sustainer program
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure accurate reporting is in place to supervise sustainer KPIs, test results, and giving behavior
  • Play a key role in developing sustainer offers and pitch in with developing copy and content for the sustainer audience
  • Respond and engage sustainers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support quality assurance testing to ensure program materials -- including copy, tracking, and landing pages -- are flawless
  • Assist in day-to-day management of direct marketing campaigns
  • Keep a pulse on the latest trends and innovations in individual fundraising and sustainer giving
  • Contribute to other projects as required

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a non-profit/community impact Philanthropy department is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience coordinating a sustaining donor program
  • Passion for the Foodbank mission and a desire to excel in philanthropy and fundraising work.
  • A demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as but not limited to: Raiser's Edge or similar CRM, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, ability to handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
  • Effective communication skills (oral & written).
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to guide effective decision making.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
