General Description/Position Summary

The Coordinator Relations Coordinator interacts with the community with a focus on fundraising events and cause marketing. The team member will support department goals by building relationships with new donors and strengthening relationships with existing donors. As a member of a fast-paced philanthropy team, this position supports a variety of efforts and must be highly organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing Foodbank fundraising events, cause-marketing campaigns, virtual food drives and other third-party fundraisers.
  • Develop annual calendar of events, including individual project plans.
  • Conduct post-event analysis and generate accurate and timely internal event reports for philanthropy staff.
  • Partner with various departments to drive success of community fundraisers.
    • Coordinate event promotions & collateral materials with Communications Department.
    • Collaborate with teammates to identify and secure appropriate sponsorship funding levels for special events.
    • Assist with event acknowledgements.
  • Attend relevant meetings and speaking engagements that help strengthen the Foodbank's fundraising efforts and visibility in the community.
  • Research and identify prospective corporate and business donors, compile donor portfolios, and coordinate and implement approved strategies for relationship building.
  • Develop and maintain databases for special event participants, vendors, sponsors, donors.
  • Compile and present special event status reports, including timelines and event reviews as requested.
  • Generate event correspondence.
  • Assist with tours, check presentations, data entry and mail processing.
  • Grow and enhance Foodbank's memorial and tribute program
    • Generate handwritten tribute cards
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree with major coursework in English, public relations, communications or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a non-profit development department is required
  • Passion for the Foodbank mission and a desire to excel in fundraising and development work.
  • Strong public speaking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, ability to handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work
  • Effective communication skills (oral & written)
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to guide effective decision making
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check

Special events and other projects related to this position may require evening and / or weekend work. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
