The Mission of the St. Louis Area Foodbank is to build stronger communities by empowering people with food and hope. As the region's largest food distribution charity dedicated to feeding those in need, we are working to create a stronger, healthier bi-state region where no one goes to be hungry. The Summer VISTA Partner Services Member will assist with partner compliance and services throughout our region. This work aims to strengthen partner capacity through on-site visits, data collection and training to support implementation of the client data tracking system and filing and digitizing records that support the infrastructure of SLAFB teams.

This position requires someone who:

AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate (SA) members:

• Members serve will be paid $514 bi-weekly, which means they will earn around $2,056 for their 8-week commitment.
• Summer Associates may perform direct service activities in addition to capacity-building activities.
• After successfully completing a term of service, Summer Associates may receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,311.11 which can be used to pay for college or student loans, or an end-of-service cash stipend of $276.64.
• Term of service estimated to be 05/30/22 – 08/21/22. Negotiable but must serve a full 8 weeks.
• Due to the short length of this service, Summer Associates are not provided any personal or medical leave.

Project Period: Members serve an 8-week term through the summer. Start and end dates (negotiable) are –

May 30 – July 24

June 13 – August 7

June 27 – August 21

Goal of the Project:

The goal of the St. Louis Area Foodbank VISTA Program is to help combat barriers that individuals and families may face in gaining access to fresh, seasonal, and nutritious foods in both Urban and Rural areas.

Objective of the Assignment: Complete visits to partner agencies to strengthen partner capacity and

assist with partner compliance and services throughout our region.

Member Activities:

1. Conduct on-site visits at partner agencies throughout our service territory to ensure partner compliance and food safety requirements are met to provide the best service to our neighbors.
2. Assist with data collection, training, documenting procedures that support the implementation of the client data tracking system, service insights.

Objective of the Assignment: Assist with building the infrastructure of the SLAFB teams.

1. Assist in organizing SLAFB team files, administrative tasks, and digitizing partner and SLAFB records.
