The Mission of the St. Louis Area Foodbank is to build stronger communities by empowering people with food and hope. As the region's largest food distribution charity dedicated to feeding those in need, we are working to create a stronger, healthier bi-state region where no one goes to be hungry. The Data VISTA works under the direction of the Business Operations Analyst, and the support of the Information Technology Team, to build the foundation of our Analysis program and implement pivotal reporting and metrics. The service year is meant to be a rewarding experience where the individual gains transferable skillsets essential to every nonprofit.

This position requires someone who:

AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate (SA) members:

• Members serve will be paid $514 bi-weekly, which means they will earn around $2,056 for their 8-week commitment.
• Summer Associates may perform direct service activities in addition to capacity-building activities.
• After successfully completing a term of service, Summer Associates may receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,311.11 which can be used to pay for college or student loans, or an end-of-service cash stipend of $276.64.
• Term of service estimated to be 05/30/22 – 08/21/22. Negotiable but must serve a full 8 weeks.
• Due to the short length of this service, Summer Associates are not provided any personal or medical leave.

Project Name: St. Louis Area Foodbank

Project Period: Members serve an 8-week term through the summer. Start and end dates (negotiable) are –

May 30 – July 24

June 13 – August 7

June 27 – August 21

Goal of the Project:

The goal of the St. Louis Area Foodbank Data VISTA Program is to assist with building the foundation of the Analytics program and implement pivotal reporting and metrics. The goal of reporting and analysis is to increase communication and data efficiency within the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

Objective of the Assignment: Create and implement reporting procedures for the Analytics/IT program.

Member Activities:

1. Create and implement data collection methods, using a variety of reporting tools and databases (Excel, Qualtrics, Jet Reports, Power BI, Tableau).
2. Create necessary templates and forms (Analytics/IT internal and external documentation) and begin implementation throughout the Foodbank.
3. Create ad hoc reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

Objective of the Assignment: Collect and analyze data through the creation and deployment of surveys and process mapping flow diagrams for departments within the Foodbank.

Member Activities:

1. Begin analyzing and prioritizing collected data from databases.
2. Develop methods to establish the success of the Analytics program to include, but not limited to, organization and department reporting, survey creation/deployment/analysis, and process map diagrams.
3. Assist with supporting process mapping strategies, by attending required meetings and creating flow diagrams using Visio software.
