SLAFB is currently seeking an Agency Relations Coordinator whose primary purpose is to build capacity within the Foodbank's network by developing and implementing food assistance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing agency partners in varying socio-economic backgrounds and have implemented various initiatives related to the reduction of food insecurities including USDA and Non-federally Subsidized Programs. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build capacity within Foodbank's network by developing and/or implementing food assistance initiatives that will ensure the growth and success of all foodbank partners.
  • Build a robust channel of food into our 26-county service territory.
  • Monitor the member agencies to ensure all partners comply with Feeding America, St. Louis Area Foodbank, and other relevant sanctioning body's operating guidelines, regulations, and rules.
  • Conduct monitoring visits throughout 26-county service territory.
  • Design and lead educational and training efforts with member agencies that will improve and update their operational practices, including but not limited to compliance, capability and growth, food safety and overall operational success.
  • Participate in the development of all foodbank food assistance and service programs.
  • Complete accurate periodic agency reports for USDA programs and serve as liaison between foodbank and state program representatives.
  • Prepare and maintain member agency paperwork.
  • Help to maintain policy manuals for all USDA and non-federally subsidized programs.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure adequate food distribution throughout our 26-county service territory.
  • Attend program-related training conferences and workshops, specifically those offered by Feeding America, and by other similar organizations as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors' degree from an accredited university required. Emphasis in Non-Profit Administration, Public Health or another social service-related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience assisting with outreach initiatives or volunteer activities with partners and volunteers of varying socio-economic backgrounds for a nonprofit organization strongly preferred. Previous experience managing agency partners a plus.
  • Passion for the Foodbank mission and the ability to demonstrate SLAFB's Core Values: Stewardship, Teamwork, Agility and Respect
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications.
  • Ability to think strategically while acting tactically
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, handle interruptions, maintain focus on tasks and produce accurate work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation with proof of insurance and be willing to travel within a 125-mile radius.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check

This position requires standing for extended periods of time and the ability to lift and move product up to 40 lbs., both in and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions. Special events and other projects related to this position may require evening and/or weekend work. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
