The Mission of the St. Louis Area Foodbank is to build stronger communities by empowering people with food and hope. As the region's largest food distribution charity dedicated to feeding those in need, we are working to create a stronger, healthier bi-state region where no one goes to be hungry. The Summer VISTA Philanthropy member expands the Foodbank's ability manage donor data to ensure food security more effectively through appropriate funding.

AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate (SA) members:
- Members serve will be paid $514 bi-weekly, which means they will earn around $2,056 for their 8-week commitment.
- Summer Associates may perform direct service activities in addition to capacity-building activities.
- After successfully completing a term of service, Summer Associates may receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,311.11 which can be used to pay for college or student loans, or an end-of-service cash stipend of $276.64.
- Term of service estimated to be 05/30/22 - 08/21/22. Negotiable but must serve a full 8 weeks.
- Due to the short length of this service, Summer Associates are not provided any personal or medical leave.

Goal of the Project:
The goal of the St. Louis Area Foodbank VISTA Program is to build capacity across our philanthropy department, supporting relationship managers and other personnel with key activities that will lay groundwork for a more robust financial development culture. This project is vital in helping the Foodbank to ensure a nutritionally secure bi-state region by securing necessary funding. A key benefit of this opportunity is to learn background and necessary fundraising components of a non-profit organization.
Objective of the Assignment: Having transitioned to a new CRM, the primary department need is to transition data. This role is key in ensuring that fundraising data is transferred accurately and swiftly.
Member Activities:
- Maintain accuracy of donor groups in Raiser's Edge.
- Help department staff ensure donor information current in Raiser's Edge. This may include entering specific asks, recording activities, uploading documents such as grant agreements, and updating contact information for Fundraisers.
- Support the timely transfer of data from our former system to our new system.
Objective of the Assignment: Support department personnel with maintaining accurate information in our CRM System and with keeping track of fundraising data.
Member Activities:
- Run reports, including fundraiser activity, group management, analysis of daily gift reports and more.
- Research as needed to ensure accuracy of all donor information.
- Support gift tracking and management, including tracking down missing gifts and linking gifts, and data cleanup.
- May have additional activities as needed by the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
