General Description/Position Summary

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is looking for an innovative content designer with the right blend of technical skills and eye-catching creative abilities. The Associate Creative Designer is responsible for producing high-quality materials that embody the brand integrity of the St. Louis Area Foodbank. This person will create and update collateral for the organization's website, printed materials, social media and internal communications, while optimizing content based on analytics. This position also assists other departments and external stakeholders with following brand standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Website
    • Regularly update and format the Foodbank's website including: blog posts, engagement opportunities, and the events calendar; assist departments with page maintenance quarterly.
    • Design graphics and edit images for landing pages, banner ads, and mobile displays
    • Monitor analytics and performance of the Foodbank's website and social channels, provide monthly reports to the Director of Communications and designated members of the leadership team.

  • Printed and Digital Materials
    • Develop printed materials templates including brochures, infographics, signs, banners, and flyers
    • Design digital marketing materials for emails and other various department projects
    • Track and report analytics to offer strategic insights that align with budget
    • Format material for use across applicable platforms

  • Branding
    • Use brand standards and style guide to advise proper use of Foodbank name and logo by internal and external parties.
    • Develop and design campaigns that reflect market trends and further the evolution of our brand
  • Internal Support
    • Maintain regular cadence of cross-team communication including emails and digital signage
    • Promote employee engagement through thoughtful internal communications strategy development and compelling content creation
    • Regularly support and maintain strategic internal editorial calendar

  • Photography and Video Editing
    • Serve as Foodbank photographer/videographer when designated.
    • Capture and publish stories that exemplify the foodbank's work

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Please provide traditional marketing/ digital work samples, if applicable.

  • Bachelor's degree in web development, graphic design or communications.
  • Proficient in editing Wordpress themes and plugins with an understanding of child-themes.
  • Must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with the following is a plus: Microsoft Office, Convio, and Mailchimp, Google Ad Words.
  • Experience analyzing and compiling social media reports: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Photography and video skills, editing is a plus.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Must be able to pass drug screening and criminal background check.

Special events and other projects related to this position may require evening and / or weekend work. Meeting attendance may require overnight travel.
