Job Title: Repackaging Center Coordinator

Immediate Supervisor: Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center Manager

General Description/Position Summary:

The Repackaging Center Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the volunteer base for the repackaging of donated and government food for distribution to member agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead volunteer orientation at the beginning of shifts. Purpose of the orientation is:
    • To educate about hunger relief and the Foodbank's role in serving our neighbors in need, provide direction to volunteers, guide tours through the Foodbank facility at the end of the shift to encourage continued support as volunteers and supporters
    • Ensure volunteer safety during shifts by informing volunteers safe warehouse practices.
  • Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Foodbank and its mission
  • Integral part in creating a positive volunteer experience, which will help facilitate ongoing volunteer support
  • Coordinate the storage and rotation of product in an efficient, organized and safe manner with the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center Manager
  • Work with Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center Manager to plan volunteer packing projects and update the Production Calendar as needed
  • Coordinate with the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center Manager to ensure products are in place for each shift
  • Provide inventory reports to management as needed
  • Work with Warehouse Team to ensure that all products are labeled and racked accurately
  • Conduct accurate count of physical inventory as determined by the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center Manager to help manage inventory
  • Ensure accurate inventory and assist in inventory reconciliation; may produce related reports
  • Coach volunteers and coordinate volunteer assistance to secure program quality in product repackaging
  • Ensure the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center is adequately stocked with necessary supplies, which are readily available
  • Train and demonstrate how to repack food within AIB food safety guidelines
  • During shifts, monitor the work of the volunteers to ensure they are following procedures
  • Complete weekly volunteer attendance reports and update master reports on the share drive
  • Responsible for following safe workplace policies
  • Responsible for following policies and procedures related to food safety and equipment safety
  • Take an active role in reinforcing safe work practices
  • Assist other departments, as needed, at special events (i.e. food distribution events and fundraising events).
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, ability to handle interruptions, maintains focus on tasks and produce accurate work
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment
  • Digital and computer proficiency
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

Physical Requirements:

The Repackaging Center Coordinator's primary work location within the Foodbank campus will be the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center but will also require going in and out of the warehouse. Both the Repackaging Center/Volunteer Center and the Warehouse will involve walking and standing on hard concrete surfaces. The Repackaging Center Coordinator must have the ability to lift, bend, stoop, pick up and move objects up to 40 pounds.

Work schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday. May work evenings and weekends due to special events and other projects related to timely and accurate warehousing and distribution of product.
